Movie Synopsis :
Hodaka, a high school boy who moves from his isolated island home to the city of Tokyo, who immediately becomes broke! After finally finding work at a shady occult magazine, the sky rains every day until amidst the hustle and bustle of the big city, he meets a young woman called Hina. She lives a cheerful life with her younger brother, but also has a certain power: to stop the rain and clear the sky.

PLOT:
Japan has seen exceptionally poor weather. A young girl named Hina Amano sees a pool of sunlight at a ruined shrine on the top of a dilapidated building while attending her dying mother. She leaves her mothers bedside and crosses the gate of the shrine which transports her to a world in the sky. High school freshman Hodaka Morishima runs away from home on an isolated island and moves to Tokyo, on the trip, he almost drowns due to a freak rainstorm on a ferry but is saved by a man who gives him his card. In Tokyo, he struggles to support himself since he is too young to work legally. He briefly encounters Hina when he eats at the fast-food restaurant she works at for 3 nights in a row but mostly lives his days in isolation, before finally finding a job as an assistant for a small publishing company specialising in articles about urban legends with the man on the ferry. He is eventually reunited with Hina and discovers she has the power to create sunny weather for a short period of time. Along with Hina's little brother, they start a business selling using her mysterious ability (sometimes for comically low amounts of money). He and Hina begin to fall in love but her powers hold the secret to changing Tokyo and its weather forever.
